Hey y’all! Let me introduce myself. I’m one of the @deepfeet_bar_therapy instructors, offering classes in Bend, Oregon. I’ve been practicing Ashiatsu since 2012 and running my own business specializing exclusively in barefoot massage modalities since 2014. I was “head over heels” for this style of massage from the first session I received and I know that it has kept me pain and injury free for all my years as a massage therapist. I love teaching and helping students discover that a-ha moment where everything clicks into place between brain and body. I approach working with students the same way I approach working with the body: with curiosity and attention to detail. For 15 years I taught adult belly dance classes so I’m well-versed in teaching movement based techniques and I tend to see a lot of parallels between dance and Ashiatsu massage. Both have moves that can be linked together in various combinations to deliver flowing, engaging, and therapeutic benefits to the recipient. Other interests that inform my massage practice and teaching style include: embodiment practices, working with the nervous system (body-mind connection), mindfulness, plant nerdery, restorative movement, and wellness as a body-mind-spirit connection.
