Warming up the neck and shoulders for Ashiatsu.

The targeted and professional treatment Karyn provides has been one of the most effective pain relief strategies I have found. Our sessions have no doubt improved the quality of my life.

Massage is my soul's purpose and I love using my hands AND my feet to help people feel better.

My career as a massage therapist began after an auto accident in 2009.  Massage helped me recover from my injuries and changed my career path forever.  I graduated from COCC’s massage therapy program with a 4.0 GPA and a focus on deep tissue, sports massage and neuromuscular techniques. I trained in Ashiatsu Barefoot Massage and Ashi Thai during my two-year residency in Portland, and quickly became one of Mudra Massage’s busiest therapists. I continue to study and incorporate new techniques into my practice, and I am always learning new ways to communicate with the body.

As an avid cyclist and outdoor adventurer, I have a deep appreciation for the active, outdoor-loving culture of Central Oregon and I enjoy working with clients of all ages to maintain their active lifestyles and improve their health and wellness. I am excited to expand my therapeutic massage practice in Bend and to continue the excellent massage and bodywork traditions of my mentors.

In addition to my Ashiatsu certification, I've completed over 1000 hours of training with a focus on deep tissue, trigger point, myofascial release, Thai and sports massage.  I blend techniques from these modalities with Ashiatsu massage to create a customized massage session tailored to meet each client’s needs. Whether you want to relax, ease your pain, improve your athletic performance, or recover faster, I'll work with you to achieve your goals.

Laura's focus is on helping her clients to decrease pain, increase range of motion lost to injury or chronic holding patterns and to inspire relaxation.  Each massage is tailored toward client needs by addressing specific aches and pains. Her advanced skills in Ashiatsu and in myofascial release are the backbone supporting her approach to deep therapeutic massage.   Laura has been working full time as a licensed massage therapist since 2007 and has been performing Ashiatsu since 2009.  She has experience working in a doctor’s office, (D.O.)  as well as with several chiropractors.  Laura also has extensive experience working with athletes such as runners and mountain bikers. She has been the head of several massage teams at many mountain biking events including Mountain Bike Oregon and the Cascade Creampuff 100.

Laura loves the outdoors. She is a skier, hiker, mountain biker, equestrian, and she also loves Pilates and lifting weights.   Since moving back to Central Oregon in the Spring of 2016, she has discovered a love of water sports in Central Oregon. She is also an active member of the Camp Sherman Search and Rescue Team.  When she is not massaging or enjoying the outdoors, Laura can be found in her art studio creating works with metals and enamels.
